Thomas and Friends Live! On Stage

Thanks to Mom Select, Max, Dane and I were able to see Thomas and Friends Live! On Stage at the E Center in Salt Lake City. Both boys were thrilled to be able to see the trains. For the entire 45 minute drive from our home to the E Center I was peppered with questions about the trains and the show. They were so cute and, so excited!







When we arrived we had to get some yummy snacks, of course (just popcorn and a drink, but that giant bucket of popcorn was exciting for a 2 and 4 year old!) and found our seats. We had a great view of the stage, which featured a beautifully painted backdrop.

The show itself was very cute. Filled with dancing, singing and interactive fun, it held my 4 year old's attention the entire 90 minutes! My 2 year old LOVED the show, singing and dancing along for the first half hour-45 minutes, but definitely got antsy after a while. Thank goodness we had the whole row to ourselves, so he was able to dance up and down the row without disturbing other show attendees!

The show features Thomas, James, Gordon, Sir Toppam hat and many more of your favorite friends from the Island of Sodor. It also features a troupe of Circus performers who have arrived on the Island. Unfortunately the town didn't get the message that the Circus was coming and they have to scramble to prepare for the show! Thomas tries very hard to be a "Very Useful Engine" but runs into a few mishaps along the way. In the end he learns that he can still be a Useful Engine, even if he has to let others help sometimes.

I highly recommend this show for children ages 4-7! It truly is an adorable show (heck even I had a great time singing along!), but a little bit long for the younger (1 to 3 years) set. I am a huge book lover! I am in constant search for new books to read, and new books to fill my children's book shelves. My favorite way to build my book supply is garage sales, because you can get books for kids for $.25!

Some tips for blog giveaways!

I have had a few questions about how to enter blog giveaways, so I thought I would share a few tips.

1-I will not post a giveaway on my blog that requires you to follow, make a blog post of your own, twitter, etc. Those may be additional methods of entry (for bonus entries) but all giveaways posted here will have at least one basic entry method (either a form to fill in or a comment).

2- Most giveaways require that you either leave your email address in your comment (you can leave it in an alternate format such at kissyjensen at gmail dot com to avoid trolling programs from picking up your email address) or having your email address in your blogger profile (and that profile being set to public). They will need this in order to contact you if you are the winner.

3- Make sure that they say they will email the winners, some require you to check back and contact them if you are listed as a winner.

4- Following a blog that often offers product giveaways is very helpful in two ways. First, you will always be updated when a new giveaway is posted, and second, you usually get an additional entry in each of their giveaways if you are a follower (make sure you read the directions, and leave an additional comment saying that you are a follower).

Most of all, have fun finding new products! And don't forget to let me know if you win! I love to hear of others winning!

If you have children in school, you probably have nightly reading requirements. I know my children are required to read at least 20 minutes per weekday night. For my daughter, this usually isn't a problem, she is a great reader and just goes off on her own and reads. She easily exceeds the 20 minute a day requirement. Now my son is another story. He is in 1st grade and still learning how to read. For him, reading is still new and hard. That 20 minutes can seem long when he is struggling to decode difficult words. The Pouchee review

Do you have a love affair with purses? Do you like to change your purse as often as you change your outfit? Do you HATE to have to transfer your basic items everytime you switch purses? Do you HATE taking your child's temperature as much as I do?
